Zhu Zhu Hamster Toys - Are These Hamster Toys Worth Buying?

OK, so you've read the Zhu Zhu Pets hamsters (often pronounced as Zoo Zoo Pets hamsters and Zu Zu Pets hamsters) toys hype, watched the constant TV commercials and now your kids are putting them on their Christmas list. At the end of the day, although the retail price on them is comparatively low, are they actually worth buying, or would you be better of spending the money on one of the other toys or your child's Santa list?

The hype. These hamster toys have already entered into the phase of toy craze and with the addition of them on the Toys r Us Christmas top ten toy list, that craze is just going to get worse. Now, don't get me wrong, generally I don't just follow the herd, but at $7, is it worth your kid being the only one around without a Zhu Zhu hamster toy this Christmas? Try and explain that when the novelty of the other toys have worn off and her best friend pops around with her Mr Squiggles and Num Nums to rub it in.

The fun. Without a doubt, kids of all ages love these little furry hamsters. Parents find them pretty cool too (well I do anyway!). The great thing about them, besides the four different hamster choices each having different personalities and acting differently, different aspects of these interactive toy pets appeals differently to each child. Girls love the affectionate mode and pampering and taking care of it, almost in a real hamster pet fashion. Boys on the other hand love to see them go fast and do all the cool tricks and moves that they do in explore mode. So whether you're buying a hamster toy this Christmas for a girl or boy, they will equally be thoroughly entertained and have literally hour after hour of fun...and that's from personal experience! Ah, a sudden surge of relaxation time for mom!

The great and varied range of accessories that you can buy for your kid's hamster means that you don't need to shortly search for another whole new toy, but can extend the interest, fun and interactive nature of these hamsters by simply buying an add-on for it, whether that be a hamster house or surf board or even their very own hamster mobile.

If you are one of the thousands of parents out there whose child has been pestering you for a real hamster, but you have simply put it off for all of the normal reasons, such as taking care of it in the long term, feeding it, cleaning it out, then you will be happy to find that other sneaky parents have substituted the real thing for a hamster toy and saved themselves the headaches of the care and feeding requirements and their children are more than happy and no longer go on about getting a real hamster.

If you are anything like me, I try as hard as I can to keep my daughters away from continual idle entertainment such as video games and marathon TV sessions. I love toys that make them be creative, think and if they get some exercise at the same time, all the better. These Zhu Zhu hamster toys took me completely by surprise. It's amazing the different things that they think of getting the hamster to do around the house and with all of the various accessories that I have ended up buying and as for exercise, well my little one gets plenty chasing Mr Squiggles from room to room when he goes into explore mode.

Things to Do With Old Toys

If you are like many modern parents, you have quite a few old toys around the house. While some children will scream and holler if you try to get rid of any of their toys, if you are careful you should be able to get away with putting those old toys to good use without upsetting your children.

Top Things to Do With Old Toys

Here are a few things you can do with those old toys before you just dump them in the trash so they head to a landfill.

Donate - Not only can donating old toys get rid of them, it can also be used as an opportunity to teach your children about charity. In today's world, selfishness is more rampant than ever before. Because of this, donating old toys to a worthy cause is a great thing to do to teach your children that it is sometimes better to give than to receive. While Toys for Toys and other toy drives may not accept old toys, there are many ways to pass on slightly older toys to people who are more unfortunate. With the recession still waging, there are many people who would love to have some toys donated to them.
Trade Them - This will not work for all old toys you might have, but for video games it works great. By trading in old games for new ones, parents can save money while their children are able to enjoy the latest and greatest games. There are websites and stores that exist that will usually trade two old video games for one new one. This is a terrific way to get rid of old games while still getting something for them. You are not going to get what you paid for the games originally, but for avid gamers, the savings can add up over time.
These are just two simple ideas of what you can do with your old toys. If you sit down and think about it, you are sure to come up with a list of other things that you can do with all of the old toys you have in your home. If your children are moving out to go to college, it might be a good time to go through their old toys. Just make sure you do it after they move out! In all seriousness, getting rid of old toys does not have to be a hassle if you don't want to send your old toys to the landfill.

Barney Toys - A New Breed of Dinosaur Toys

Dinosaurs are more often than not depicted as big, scary-looking creatures with huge jaws, sharp teeth and a thunderous roar. Almost all movies and shows and toys equate these creatures to monstrosity. That did not make it any less appealing to kids. They absolutely love playing and imagining being in a land filled with the huge, scary dinosaurs.

But then in 1987, Barney was born. A cute and cuddly purple and green dinosaur who loves eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. And milk. It doesn't come as a surprise why kids get attracted to such an endearing and sweet character.

The real sweet deal is aside from kids being able to watch Barney on television; Barney toys are now available in all leading toy stores, in all parts of the world.

The Barney toys range from big plush stuffed toys to little miniature Barneys that are equally soft and plush, ready to be loved and cuddled by newborns. Some of them can even laugh and talk and sing at the push of a button.

The Barney and Friends toys have become so successful that apart from the plush stuffed toys, there are even Barney online games now.

Kids just absolutely adore their Barney toys. Someone as young as a two-year-old already has the sense of being completely adamant by deciding she won't sleep without her Barney toy beside her.

It makes you wonder what these kids see in their Barney toys... how come they absolutely adore them. How come they can't put them down? How come after they've outgrown stuffed toys, they still have to go through playing online games involving the purple dinosaur?

But then again, if kids can actually fall in love with the real scary-looking dinosaurs that bite and roar and frighten everyone, then I can absolutely understand and even support that they adore the sandwich-fruits-and-vegetables-eating purple and green creature, who can sing and laugh and make all things cuddly and happy.

Recycling And Kids' Toys

Is it possible for children to have too many toys? I think that there probably is a case against children having as well many toys. I grew up with four younger brothers (about two years between each of us) and our fairly large shared bedroom was lined on two walls with shelving from floor to ceiling with toys and every Christmas there were sacks full of even more toys that we did not have any more room for.

I was the eldest, so you would think that I could pass my baby toys down the line once I had no use for them. That worked while my brothers were actually babies, but as their consciousness started to develop they wanted to play with what I was playing with and so all the toys that I used from, say three to eight years of age were ostracized by my brothers as they leap-frogged over those years and went straight to year eight and nine with me.

But we never got shot of those five years worth of disregarded toys or any other toys either. This would have been in the Fifties and Sixties and I do not believe that recycling was quite the buzz word back then that it is nowadays.

My parents did not throw them away, we just squirreled them away on the top shelves, which we could not get to anyway. I suppose that after sitting up there for ten years they were eventually thrown away but I do not know as I had already left home by then.

The point is that those superfluous toys were not doing anyone in our family any good and they were taking up room. It would have been far better to have given them away or not even to have bought some of them in the first place.

We always had to have 'one each' so that there would be less squabbling. So, we had items like five plastic trumpets, five tin drums, five plastic guns, five of this and five of that and we hardly ever used them after Christmas Day. We liked to play together at board games like Monopoly, Risk and cards and although I, being the eldest, won nine times out of ten, my brothers never seemed to care.

We also had a train set, Scalectrix and a big box of Lego. We would spend all weekend creating different scenarios with combinations of the train set, a roadway and Lego houses and Lego railway platforms. OK, these three toys were almost certainly costly, but they were quality, versatile, could be used in combination and, in a way, were educational. These were the toys that we stored on the lower shelves.

What I am saying is that more is not always better and in the case of toys, more can be just a waste of money. Instead of all that junk on the top shelves, which was usually donated by aunties and uncles by the way, it would have been better to give us a new bridge for the railway set or a new chicane for the Scalectrix or another box of building blocks for our Lego collection.

Ride-On Toys Review

Children love toys absolutely watercraft. When toys are able to master the coordination needed to go to their feet on the ground the power to negotiate their pedal or turning the steering and pedal-powered battery, they are gone and Running - ER, guidance, that is.

You can not get enough of it. Ride on toys are like a ticket to independence for young children, and since many also look or imitate adults driving cars, to loveit says "go" as mom and dad.

Foot Power Plan
There is such a variety of ride-on toys these days, who can choose to decide difficult, what. Certainly, for very young children, young children, one foot on the floor ride-on toy is the best option. Young children can have their own a car and on your mobile power foot on the ground, so do not worry I'm driving too fast or get hurt. There are blue-footed on the floor for the ride on cars for boys, pinkPrincess Auto for girls, and even ambulances, but my favorite is the adorable airplane. There are also walking the floor ride-on toys that look like lobster, a mouse, a tipper.

Pedal Power
How will the child learn to ride and better coordinated, cycling three to traditional toys such as tricycles or big wheels are the perfect next step. But there are many more pedal ride-on options, and - planes, red and green tractors, forklifts, constructionLoaders for tractors with front loaders, dump trucks, front loaders and even tractors with trailer towing blocks or dolls or dirt or whatever suits your fancy at the moment. There are also some very stylin 'pedal cars - like Mercedes, Ferrari red and red BMW convertible and a number of team sports theme pedal cars.

My favorite of this line are the vintage-style pedal toy car. ™ 65 Ford Mustang in dark blue or red, Ford ™ 65Shelby GT-350, the 1932 Ford Roadster - available in pink, red, or black with flames, and the 1932 tow truck, fire trucks, police cars or all flights incredible, and every parent is a car enthusiast Vintage and antiques is one of these for your child. do the whole line, hit the American Retro Limited Edition Burgundy Roadster me most with his appearance.

Battery Powered
And finally, after a child reaches 3 years, you might want to consider a batteryRide-on toys. However, it is important that they are managed, in particular, only under adult supervision and that your child the skills needed to understand the impact of the movement of the steering wheel of a particular type and stop and go pedal mechanism before they can get to beat the these. Chances are if your child has had one of the versions of the pedal, he or she will need to have a good understanding of the steering already, and then only to explain the pedal.

The variety of batteryoperated ride-on toy is just as wide as the pedal powered ride-ons. You can choose from a variety of styles of cars, trucks, motorcycles, rockets, horse, ATV, go kart, select jeeps, cars and dune buggies. There are modern sports cars - such as Jaguar, Ferrari, Porsche and many more - plus a vintage car and even a "bug" of the child (ie, Volkswagen Beatle).

Of course, battery-powered models are also being more expensive, but if you look for sales, you can save a bit 'this, too. If you are looking for a really great gift for your child this year, a ride on the toy makes a wonderful birthday or Christmas gift he or she will never forget!
